CAC receives SON’s quality standard recognition

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), for the third consecutive time in eight years, has won the Standard Organisation of Nigeria’s (SON) 2017QMs.
The company registration agency had before now won NIS ISO 9001-2015 Standard and a Certificate of conformity N0 -0000179( SON] for its ease of doing business initiative.
CAC win of prestigious award came on the heels of another round of revalidation audit exercise conducted by SON where the commission was found to have complied with all the requirements given room for the issuance of another certificate.
Speaking at the occasion, Registrar-General of CAC, Bello Mahmud, said that the journey culminating to the success of the event started in 2007 when the commission obtained its first certification based on NIS ISO 9001,-2000 Standards, adding that as a result of the introduction of NIS ISO 9001,-2008 Standards, the commission converted and obtained a new certificate in 2010 for a period of three years which expired in 2013.
He said that since the commission subscribed to the quality Management System, it had witnessed a remarkable improvement in service delivery.
‘‘Ours is to enhance service delivery, make our processes easier for customers on the ease of doing business, government say we must register companies within 24 hours, we have achieved that with this certification, it is to enhance economic development.”
Earlier, Aboloma expressed satisfaction with the new operation models and upgrade in the ease of doing business in Nigeria by the CAC.

The official presentation and formal unveiling of the award was done in Abuja by SON Director- General, Osita Aboloma.
‘‘Am happy that this epoch making event is taking place towards the end of my tenure as the chief executive officer of the commission, more so being the only CEO that has achieved three ISO Certification within eight years and the commission being the first Federal GovernmentGagency to obtain ISO 9001,-2015.’’
He equally gave the assurances that investors could now register their businesses with the commission online without necessarily coming down to the commission, an advantage he noted had equally facilitated foreign direct investments into the country.
